OmniWeb 4.1 Arrives

While Internet Explorer continues to dominate the PC, with Netscape and Mozilla fighting over tenths of a point market share, Mac users remain dedicated to having a choice. That choice got a major boon today with the release of OmniWeb 4.1 for Mac OS X, available now for download. If you liked OmniWeb but found yourself resorting to Internet Explorer because a page wouldn’t work, the upgrade is cause for rejoicing. Support for Java, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets is improved, Flash animations finally work, and OmniWeb even has the ability to masquerade as other browsers when a page tries to tell it it is incompatible. For many of us, one browser on the dock is never enough, but this release may finally rid us of that accursed blue “E” once and for all. (You know the one.) Put it into intensive testing and let us know how it fares. It’ll still have to compete with the powerful Mozilla 1.0 and its beautiful Orbit theme for me.
