PowerBook Hinge Issues

Macintouch has been posting a number of people’s feedback regarding problematic PowerBook hinges. A number of readers have recommended RadTech’s Glide kits but have commented that you need to re-apply.

Simply using the Radtech fluid only cures the issue for a short time, in their “Glide” kit they supply a hinge expansion tool. If you use this and the fluid, the problem will be fixed and in future occurrences can be cured simply with the fluid.

My Aluminum 15-inch is starting to squeak and exhibit tightness on the left hinge, so I’ll probably have to spring for an AlGlide kit to fix it. How are your hinges holding up?
