Metricom has rolled out their 128 Kbps wireless Internet service in Philadelphia (home of the Go2Mac.com World HQ) and we couldn’t be happier. The company is also offering a new promotion of US$200 off their USB modem which brings the price down to US$99.

Unlimited 128 Kbps wireless service starts at about US$70 per month and two PC cards modems are going to be available soon:

Today, Ricochet is available at 128 kbps in the following markets: Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas/Ft Worth, Houston, Minneapolis-St Paul, New York City/Manhattan, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, and the San Francisco Bay Area. These areas join the Washington, D.C. and Seattle 28.8 kbps service areas, allowing Ricochet users to take advantage of the freedom of wireless mobility on a nationwide basis.
