RIM Announces GPRS Blackberry 5810

WIDTH= PDABuzz has the details on the new RIM 5810 which adds a GSM/GPRS telephone to the existing RIM 957’s two-way email communications features.

“RIM has released the newest Blackberry, the RIM 5810, which includes voice and GPRS capabilities. Prices appear to be $100 more than regular RIM 957 devices. This appears to be aimed squarely at the Handspring Treo devices. In addition to GSM and GPRS, the new RIM device will have software to support POP3 and IMAP accounts in addition to Enterprise email.” Other interesting points about the RIM Blackberry 5810 is that is uses J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) as its core OS, making this Blackberry different from all the rest in regards to 3rd party software.
