AIBO Entertainment Robot is an autonomous robot with interactive features. Advanced Artificial Intelligence gives AIBO the ability to make its own decisions while maturing over time. The name AIBO is from “Artificial Intelligence” and “robot”, and it also means pal or companion in Japanese.
There is also great software available for the PC to control the new Aibovia a wireless PC card in your laptop. No word yet on if a Mac version is planned or it will work under Virtual PC. Aibo ERS-220 is available for US$1500 with free shipping. If that is a little too rich for your blood, you may want to check out Sony’s other robot toys, the Aibo LM Series, Latte and Macaron (ERS-311 & 312 AIBO LM) which retail for US$850.

FYI, the Aibo’s mecha design is done by the same designer who responsibe for Macross (RoboTech). The parts can be exchange (limbs can come off). A very different Aibo compare to the other three series.
