  • iOS 14 betas list supported devices for upcoming operating system

    If you’re curious as to whether your iPhone or iPod touch will be able to run iOS 14, the betas seem to indicate that you’ll need an iPhone 6s or better or iPod touch 7th-gen or better to run the upcoming operating system.

    The current supported devices are as follows:

    • iPhone 11
    • iPhone 11 Pro
    • iPhone 11 Pro Max
    • iPhone XS
    • iPhone XS Max
    • iPhone XR
    • iPhone X
    • iPhone 8
    • iPhone 8 Plus
    • iPhone 7

    Long story short, if you’re hanging on to a beloved iPhone 5 or older, it might be time to upgrade come this fall.

  • Apple begins accepting pre-orders for Apple Watch Series 5, iPad 7th Gen units

    The Apple Watch Series 5 and iPad 7th Gen (or seventh-generation iPad) are now available for preorder, with the 2019 model iPhones becoming available for pre-order today.

    Apple Watch Series 5: This unit starts at 32GB of storage, and features an always-on display, a Compass app, and available in more finishes, colors, and materials, like titanium and ceramic. Pricing starts at $399.

    The iPad 7th sports a 10.2-inch Retina display with a thin bezel, almost 3.5 million pixels, and an A10 Fusion chip. The unit is crafted from a 100 percent recycled aluminum body and is available for $329.

    iPad 7th Gen: This is an updated version of what became known as the education iPad. It has a 10.2-inch display with thin bezels like the old 10.5-inch iPad Pro. The 10.2-inch Retina display has almost 3.5 million pixels, an A10 Fusion chip, and for the first time, an 100% recycled aluminum body.

  • Pokémon Go app surpasses Twitter’s daily user base, sees more engagement than Facebook

    Welcome to a world that loves Pokémon Go.

    Per a report from SimilarWeb, Pokémon Go has now topped Twitter’s daily users with users spending more time in the app than Facebook according to various tracking terms.

    The app has also surpassed the Tinder dating app in terms of installs and is closing in on Twitter’s daily active users. By Thursday, July 7th, the app had been installed on more Android smartphones than the dating app, the firm had said.

    Today, SimilarWeb tells us that Pokémon Go did manage to surpass Twitter in terms of daily active users on Monday, and now sees 5.92 percent of the U.S. Android population engaging with the app on a daily basis.

  • Apple Watch to become available in select Best Buy locations come August 7th

    Come August 7th, you’ll be able to snag an Apple Watch at certain local Best Buy locations.

    Best Buy announced on Sunday that Apple will be making Apple Watch available at more than 100 Best Buy stores in the U.S. on Aug. 7, making it the first major outlet to carry Watch outside of Apple’s own stores.

    Best Buy will start stocking Watch through its online store and at select locations, with plans to expand to over 300 outlet before the lucrative holiday shopping season. Since launching in April, Apple has limited sales to its own online and brick-and-mortar outlets, international pop-up shops and a few token third-party boutiques.
