It’s a rumor at this point, but an interesting one.

Per MacRumors, Japanese magazine Mac Fan has published some possible schematics depicting the design of the larger-screened “iPad Pro” or “iPad Air Plus” in its January issue, which have been shared by Mac Otakara along with some information about the upcoming device.

The schematics suggest the tablet will include a 12.2-inch LCD display, and it points towards dimensions of 305.31mm x 220.8mm x 7mm, or 12 inches x 8.7 inches x 0.28 inches, which is in line with previous rumors about the larger tablet. Many rumors have suggested a size of 12.9-inches for the larger tablet, but this is the second report from Mac Otakara that has suggested the device will have a 12.2-inch display.

You may have to wait a little longer for the 12-inch Retina display MacBook Air.

Per AppleInsider and Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, current rumors have it that Apple’s 12-inch Retina display MacBook Air could be delayed until 2015 given processor supply constraints, while the release of the next-generation 11-inch and 13-inch models will be on time as partner suppliers in East Asia are receiving parts for mass production.

The current stories claim a rumored 12-inch MacBook Air may see its release date pushed back to late 2014 or early 2015, while parts for Apple’s refreshed 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air models are now being shipped to partner supplier Quanta ahead of production next month.

A new manufacturer might have resolved the battery problem for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 handset.

Per Taiwan’s Economic Daily News and GforGames, Taiwan-based Simplo Technologies is said to have been able to craft batteries thin and flexible enough for the so-called “iPhone 6,” a feat apparently not able to be matched by current suppliers Samsung and LG Chemical.

Reports that Apple’s new 5.5-inch “phablet” may be delayed first surfaced in April. The device’s design is said to call for a battery less than 2 millimeters tall, a significant reduction from the current generation.

  • Waze realtime incident data now incorporated into Google Maps following acquisition earlier this year

    waze_logo

This is one of the better sides of companies buying each other out.

Per AppleInsider, crowd sourced traffic data from Waze, a company that Google acquired earlier this year, is now included in the official Google Maps application for iPhone and iPad.

The company announced on its official Lat Long blog on Tuesday that real time incident reports from Waze users will appear in the official Google Maps apps for both iOS and Android in the U.S. and U.K., as well as France, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Peru, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador.

Google has also updated the Waze app for iOS, as well as Android, to add Google Search functionality. Google’s data now joins other search providers in being integrated into Waze.

Finally, Google also announced that the Waze Map Editor has been updated with Google Street View and satellite imagery. This will make it easier for users in the Waze community to correct map errors. Google announced it had acquired Waze, a crowd-sourced traffic and navigation service, in June.

Google announced in June that it had acquired Waze, a popular cross-platform, crowd-sourced traffic and navigation service to bolster its own Google Maps. As of April, Waze had more than 40 million people actively using its service and contributing data.

The Waze iOS application was highlighted by Apple >last year following the launch of iOS 6, when the company promoted alternative mapping applications and apologized for the substandard quality of its own Maps.

Google, in turn, has been working to greater monetize users of its own mapping software on iOS, as the company rolled out new banner ads for the official Google Maps application earlier this month.

If you’ve seen the realtime incident reporting in action and have any feedback to offer about it, let us know in the comments.
