  • Best Buy to offer expanded Apple repair services at U.S. locations

    If you need tech help with your Apple product, Best Buy might be able to help out.

    Apple has announced that it has partnered with Best Buy to offer certified repairs at every one of its nearly 1,000 locations in the United States. According to the release, Best Buy’s Geek Squad now has nearly 7,600 newly Apple-certified technicians that can make same-day iPhone repairs and service other products. Best Buy stores will use official Apple parts and their repair work will be backed by Apple.

    Apple has been under pressure to reduce its backlogs, wait times, and reservations for repairs at its Apple Store locations. According to the company, the partnership will make for more than 1,800 third-party Apple Authorized Service Providers in the U.S., thereby amounting to three times the locations three years ago.

    Apple has stated that eight out of ten Apple customers will now be within 20 minutes of an authorized service provider.

  • Black Friday Roundup: Deals to be found on iPhones, Macs, iPads, AirPods, etc.

    The Black Friday deals have gone live and they are prodigies.

    As usual, the large retail chains, such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Lowe’s, are offering a number of good deals and many online-only deals are already available.

  • Apple Watch Series 1, Series model inventories begin to run low ahead of September 12th media event

    With its scheduled media event on September 12th and new models of the Apple Watch expected, availability of the Apple Watch Series 1 is beginning to worsen. On Apple’s website, the 38mm Apple Watch Series 1 in silver and space gray has become unavailable for purchase, as have many models of the Series 3.

    The cool cats at iHelp BR noticed that the 42mm version of the Apple Watch Series 1 remains available for shipping and pickup at select Apple Stores. Meanwhile, the 38mm version of the Apple Watch Series 1 is unavailable for delivery and for pickup. Select Apple retail stores do have the device available for same-day pickup, but it is completely unavailable from the far majority of locations – suggesting the only supply left is what retail stores have in stock.

  • AirPods reportedly sold out in week before Christmas

    It may be harder to find Apple’s AirPods in time for Christmas.

    Over on Apple’s online store, the company is now quoting delivery of the units in the first and second weeks of January. As such, you might have to hunt around for the headphones if you want to get them under the Christmas tree for a loved one on the 25th.

    Best Buy, Verizon, and Sprint all list early January delivery dates or no availability at all. B&H also shows AirPods as back-ordered. AT&T seems to have some availability for 2-day shipping, but be sure to act fast as that could change within a few minutes.
