Following its public beta last December, Sonos has announced that it will officially add support for Apple Music to its connected speaker lineup tomorrow, February 10th.

“We’re big fans of Sonos,” Apple senior vice president of internet software and services Eddy Cue said to BuzzFeed. “We’ve been looking forward to this.” When asked why Sonos didn’t support Apple Music from the start, especially considering it supported Beats Music, Cue explained that it took some time to get it right. “It’s important to get the integration right the first time out,” Cue said. “Apple has a high bar for this stuff; So does Sonos. • Apple Music hits 11 million trial users in five weeks

    applemusicicon

It’s been five weeks and there’s 11 million trial users on board so far.

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue has stated that Apple Music has garnered 11 million trial users, with two million of these users opting in to the multi-user family plan.

To compare it to its competitors, streaming music heavyweight Spotify boasts about 80 million users worldwide, 20 million of whom pay regular monthly fees for access to ad-free, on-demand content. That would put Apple Music at half the capacity of an industry leader if each existing trial member converts their single-user or family plan to a full paying membership. After a free three-month trial, users can continue to use Apple Music for US$9.99 per month, or US$14.99 per month for access on up to six devices.
