Apple adds M3 iPad Air to Refurbished storefront

Sometimes it’s worth the wait for the Apple product of your dreams to hit the refurbished marketplace.

Apple recently added the M3-based iPad Air tablets to its refurbished store in the United States and many European countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, and others.

This marks the first time that the iPad Air with the M3 chip has been made available in Apple’s refurbished storefront since its release in March of 2024.

As usual, the refurbished models are approximately 15 percent cheaper than the new models. In the United States, for example, the 11-inch iPad Air with the M3 chip, 128GB of storage, and Wi-Fi only is available for $509, compared to $599 new.

Apple has stated that its refurbished iPads boast a new battery, outer shell, a new box, and all accessories, including a 20W USB-C power adapter and/or a USB-C charging cable depending on the country. The company states that it puts refurbished devices through a “thorough cleaning process and inspection,” resulting in a like-new condition.

All refurbished iPads are covered by Apple’s one-year warranty. AppleCare+ is also available for purchase to offer additional protection.

  • Rumor: Apple to ship first OLED MacBook Air in 2028

Rumor: Apple to ship first OLED MacBook Air in 2028

Come 2028, Apple will release a completely nifty MacBook Air with an OLED display.

Per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to transition the MacBook Air from LCD to OLED within its 2028 product line. This will be part of a larger transition to the technology, including the flagship iPad Pro and MacBook models as well as the iPad mini, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and MacBook Air, and also likely in that order.

Apple already uses OLED displays in the iPad Pro. There are apparently no plans to add OLED to the low-cost iPad. The ‌MacBook Pro‌ will be updated with an OLED display when it is next redesigned, perhaps as soon as late 2026, and it will include touch screen functionality, per Gurman and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

It’s thought that Apple will release an M5-based MacBook Air in early 2026, complete with an LCD display. Should Apple continue its established upgrade pattern, the first OLED MacBook Air will be powered by the M7 chip.

When the MacBook Air moves from LCD to OLED display technology, it will gain several advantages – brighter screens, deeper blacks with higher contrast, improved power efficiency that can extend battery life, and other enhancements.

  • Rumor: Apple developing OLED iPad mini, iPad Air, and MacBook Air models

Rumor: Apple developing OLED iPad mini, iPad Air, and MacBook Air models

If you’ve been hankering for additional Apple devices with OLED displays, you’re going to like this.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is prepping OLED displays for several of its products. The new products seem to be along Apple’s more budget-focused lines, but it appears that OLED will arrive for nearly every Apple product over the next few years.

First up is a rumored water-resistant iPad mini, codenamed J510. Apple is expected to use a new speaker system that would use vibration-related technology that could enable Apple to remove speaker holes. The updated iPad mini is expected to be the first non-Pro iPad to receive OLED and is thought to be en route for early 2026.

Where the iPad Air is concerned, the next-gen model is expected for spring of 2026, but will still feature an LCD display. Apple is thought to be prepping an OLED-equipped iPad Air for 2027 at the earliest.

The MacBook Pro is rumored to be the first Mac with an OLED display, but Apple’s work won’t stop there. The MacBook Air is expected to get OLED as well, but not before 2028.

Where OLED is concerned, the technology has seemingly solved for its issues with burn-in via software fixes. Users can also expect these new products to have excellent color reproduction, infinite blacks, and decent brightness.

These won’t be immediate upgrades or products you can buy next week, but Apple seems to be shifting towards OLED, and that’s pretty nifty somewhere down the line.

  • Rumor: Apple to launch M5-based iPad Pro, Vision Pro in the coming week

Rumor: Apple to launch M5-based iPad Pro, Vision Pro in the coming week

With Apple’s anticipated October launch expected this month, Apple is thought to be launching an M5-based iPad Pro as well as a Vision Pro upgrade, with a possible M5 MacBook Pro as well.

Following Apple’s traditional September event when it launched the iPhone 17 lineup, there is usually the expectation that Apple will be holding a second event at some point. While the usual event timing for October has already passed, Apple is still believed to be preparing for launches in the coming days.

Per Bl0omberg’s Mark Gurman in his Sunday “Power On” newsletter, the event will be an online-only event and not held in person at Apple Park. Gurman has insisted that an M5 iPad Pro is on the docket, and given the company’s M5 Apple Silicon rollout, the iPad Pro models aren’t expected to have major changes, aside from the new chip.

Gurman also noted the possible upgrade of the Apple Vision Pro headset, which is also rumored to include the Dual Knit Band, which could make it far more comfortable to use and wear.

Finally, Apple could be leading the way for an M5 MacBook Pro this month, although a proper update to the MacBook Pro line probably won’t happen until early 2026, when Apple introduces the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.

Other products including versions of the iPad Air, entry-level iPad, monitors, and M5 MacBook Air, are anticipated for launch early in 2026.
