    Sometimes patience can be a good thing, especially when developers run a sale on apps you’ve had your eye on. There’s quite a few good ones that are on sale or just plain free this week, so get ’em while it lasts.

    Apple is running their own promotion on productivity apps for the iPhone and iPad. They’ve gathered up 20 popular apps and slapped discounted prices on them. Some of the hot ticket items are Scanner Pro (use your iDevice’s camera to create PDF documents), Launch Center Pro (handy one-stop launcher for all your apps), Fantastical (calendar app that allows you to add events in plain language), and Boxer (email client with lots of advanced features). Launch Center Pro (separate versions for iPhone and iPad) is normally $4.99, but on sale for $1.99, just to give you an example.

  • MacBook fan noise control guide posted

    You love your MacBook.

    In intimate ways.

  • Mid-2013 MacBook Air wake from sleep delay fix posted, simple Terminal command all that’s needed

    The new MacBook Air is nifty.

    But there are still some bugs to sort out.

    And in the case of the notebook being slow to wake up from sleep, PowerPage head honcho Jason O’Grady has noted a cool Terminal command that can resolve the slow wake issue, which first manifested itself when the MacBook Pro with Retina Display was released in June 2012.

    The fix was reported in by user Erv Walter and is covered, step by step, in detail over on The Apple Core.

    If you have a good thing that people want, there’s going to be demand.

    As such, during the next several hours after Apple’s launch of the third-generation iPad, the company’s online store suffered a catastrophic failure as a result of the impending traffic and transactions that came to its door.

    As always, PowerPage head honcho Jason O’Grady had a few opinions to vent about the situation over at the Apple Core. The key point: under Steve Jobs, this wouldn’t have happened, especially to the most valuable technology company in the world.
