    This could be pretty interesting.

    Medium’s Confide, which has surfaced for the Apple Watch, allows users to send end-to-end encrypted messages that delete themselves forever as soon as they’re read.

    The app also works with iOS’ Handoff, allowing you to edit your messages between iOS devices before sending with customizable notifications alerting you to new messages as they arrive.

  • Some users experiencing Wi-Fi-related issues after OS X 10.10.2, iOS 8.1.3 updates

    If you’re slamming your head against a nearby object about your Wi-Fi performance after the OS X 10.10.2 and/or iOS 8.1.3 updates, you’re not alone.

    Per Macworld, a second OS X 10.10 update, labeled 10.10.2, was publicly released Tuesday. Leading off the improvements offered in the update was “resolves an issue that might cause Wi-Fi to disconnect,” according to the release notes.

    Despite this claim, Apple’s support forum was filled with tales of frustrated users who upgraded to 10.10.2 and still had weak or nonexistent Wi-Fi connections and trouble using Wi-Fi with Bluetooth-enabled devices.

  • Apple releases third OS X Yosemite golden master candidate to developer community

    Yosemite is coming.

    It’s just going through a few more golden master candidates.

    Per MacRumors, Apple today released a third golden master candidate of OS X Yosemite to developers, just two days after releasing the second candidate golden master and the fifth public beta. The first golden master candidate was seeded to developers on September 30th.

    The latest Yosemite update can be downloaded from the Mac App Store and through Apple’s Mac Developer Center.

    Yosemite brings a flatter, more modern look to OS X, with an emphasis on translucency and redesigned Dock, windows, and more. It also includes a multitude of new features, such as improved integration with iOS 8 through Continuity, a new “Today” view in Notification Center that offers integration with third-party apps, a retooled Spotlight search with new data sources, and several new features for apps like Mail, Safari, and Messages.

  • Apple posts iOS 8.0.2 update, chases down Touch ID, cellular connectivity bugs reported in iOS 8.0.1

    This may avert another 24 hours of iOS update crisis.

    Per MacRumors, Apple on Thursday released iOS 8.0.2.

    The update, which is available as an over-the-air update or via iTunes, includes the bug fixes that were included in the original iOS 8.0.1 update as well as repairs Touch ID and cellular services.

    After installing iOS 8.0.1 yesterday, many iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users found that their cellular service was disabled and that Touch ID was non-functional. Apple pulled the iOS 8.0.1 update approximately an hour and fifteen minutes after it was first released, but not before numerous iPhone users were able to download the software. The company announced an investigation in the afternoon, and in the evening, released a support document saying iOS 8.0.2 was in the works and directing users to fix the problem via an iTunes restore to iOS 8.
