  • Apple posts full WWDC keynote speech online

    Following up on the slew of announcements from this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple late Monday posted to its website a full version of this year’s WWDC keynote address. The keynote clocks in at just under two and a half hours from Bill Hader’s comedic intro to a musical performance by The Weeknd.

    The keynote includes announcements such as HomeKit 2, iOS 9, OS X 10.11 El Capitan, new APIs, watchOS 2 and more.

  • Apple announces Swift 2, promises programming language will go open source in the near future

    It never hurts when a programming language becomes accessible to a wider audience.

    During the WWDC keynote on Monday, Apple announced that Swift 2, the update to its Swift programming language, would receive significant changes.

    A number of enhancements to the language are planned, adding Objective-C generics, a faster debug mode, C function pointer APIs and more.

  • Apple announces OS X 10.11 El Capitan, plans for fall release

    The torrent of news and announcements from this year’s WWDC keynote starts here.

    It starts with El Capitan.

    On Monday, Apple announced OS X 10.11 El Capitan, the next version of its operation system. The updated OS will feature new versions of multiple stock apps, including Safari, Mail and Notes, improved Spotlight search with natural language enhancements and contextually aware results, Metal for Mac and other new features and refinements.

  • Yahoo slims down services, will require iOS 5.0 or later, Mac OS X 10.8 or later to access Yahoo Mail after June

    Sometimes you’ve got no choice but to upgrade…

    Yahoo announced that it will be ending support for Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Contacts will be discontinued for some older Apple devices as of June 15th.

    In the case of Yahoo Mail, users with devices running iOS 4 or earlier will no longer be able to use their Yahoo accounts with iOS’ native Mail app. At the same time, Yahoo Contacts will stop syncing with Macs on OS X Lion or earlier.

  • Apple to stream WWDC keynote at Monday, 10 AM PT

    If you’re hankering to watch the Worldwide Developer Conference keynote, Apple’s got you covered.

    The keynote will take place on Monday, June 8th at 10 AM Pacific Time and the PowerPage will do everything it can to bring you the latest news from the event. .

    This year, Apple is expected to show off features from the next versions of OS X and iOS, may introduce a new streaming music service built on Beats Music, and could unveil new features for Apple TV such as support for third-party apps. The company is also going to share details on developing native apps for Apple Watch.
