    There are rumors as to what’s en route for iOS 13.

    And, logically, there are rumors as to what to expect in iOS 12.

    Per the rumor mill, Apple is planning on bringing landscape orientation support to Face ID in iOS 12. This could function as a feature for an iPad that unlocks using your face instead of your fingerprint.

  • Apple releases iOS 11.3.1 update, focuses on security fixes, third-party screen replacement issue for iPhone 8

    It’s not the largest update in the world, but it has some important fixes within it.

    On Tuesday, Apple released its iOS 11.3.1 update. The update, a 44.5 megabyte download for the iPhone and a 33.5 megabyte download for the iPad, offers the following fixes and changes:

    – iOS 11.3.1 improves the security of your iPhone or iPad and addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 8 devices because they were serviced with non-genuine replacement displays.

  • Rumor: Apple exploring MicroLED display technology for use in future iPhone, Apple Watch products

    The next generation of Apple displays for Apple Watches and iPhones could be based on MicroLED technology.

    Apple is reportedly developing its own MicroLED screens for future Apple Watches and iPhones that would make them thinner, brighter, and more energy efficient. The current rumor has it that the Apple Watch would receive the new displays first, followed by iPhone, but the advancements are still likely years away.

    The technology, if perfected on Apple’s end, could allow for screens that are lighter, thinner, far more power efficient and hopefully cheaper.

  • Rumor: Apple to release three Face ID-capable iPhone models in fall of 2018

    Additional rumors have surfaced as to Apple planning to release a trio of iPhone models this fall, all three incorporating Face ID authentication technology.

    The report, via Bloomberg, states that Apple is looking at producing 6.5-inch screen, with a body about the same size as the iPhone 8 Plus. An edge-to-edge design in the “D33” model, such as that in the iPhone X, would allow for a large OLED screen without significantly increasing the size of the enclosure.

    The largest of the rumored models is said to boast a screen resolution of 1,242 x 2,588, thereby giving it the same pixel density as that of the iPhone X.

  • AppleCare+ for HomePod priced at $39, covers two accidental damage incidents

    If you’re looking to snag AppleCare+ for your new HomePod, it’ll run you $39.

    The extended warranty and accidental damage repair program offers two out-of-warranty repairs like accidental damage from a drop.

    Without AppleCare+, the repair will run $279.

    The checkout process for a HomePod has said since the pre-order process that AppleCare+ coverage extending the warranty to two years, granting a longer customer support window, and providing for reduced-cost out-of-warranty repairs would cost $39. However, a new support document published on Friday breaks down the HomePod repair process, as well as costs associated with the repair.
