Trigem Denies Copying iMac Design

In a recent press release (“Trigem says did not copy iMac design“), Trigem Computer Inc, which owns 51% of eMachines, rebuted Apple’s claims that the eMachines eOne copied the iMac’s design. Here’s the details:

“Design concepts in the information technology industry have been open in most areas,” Trigem said in a statement.

“We have seriously reviewed the design of Apple’s iMac before launching eOne PCs and also conducted a legal review before the launch,” it said.

Trigem said it expects to “smoothly solve” the dispute with Apple Computer.

Apple said earlier on Thursday that it had filed a lawsuit against eMachines, alleging that eMachines had illegally copied the design of Apple’s popular iMac coupter with its just-launched eOne PC.
