Warby Parker’s Glasses app for iOS uses iPhone X camera to map your face, recommend glasses for you

Ok, this is pretty neat.

Even if the iPhone X has been out for less than a week, a few apps are already taking advantage of the handset’s face mapping technology.

In the case of glasses retailer Warby Parker, the company is combining its app with the iPhone X’s camera to take maps of people’s faces, and use that data to recommend styles of glasses that will best fit your face. This goes a step beyond the digital try on system the company had previously offered, which made an effort to place a virtual pair of glasses on the user’s face to let them see how they might look.

The new feature is available on the Warby Parker Glasses app on iOS now, although it should go without saying that you’ll need an iPhone X to take advantage of it.

The Glasses app requires iOS 10.0 or later to install and run.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
