Kodak EasyShare One WiFi Digital CameraGizmodo is reporting that the Kodak EasyShare One WiFi digital camera is being delayed from June to October. I am extremely relieved by the decision because I considered getting this camera long and hard and was even willing to wait several months for it.
The concept sounds cool on paper: take pictures and upload them to the Web via WiFi, but in practice it’s kinda lame. According to Gizmodo “it sucks, because it only works with Ofoto (now called ?Kodak EasyShare Gallery,? or as we call it, ?Ofoto?), Kodak?s own image hosting service. That?s exactly what I want to spend 400 bucks on: a camera that ties me to a single service.”
I couldn’t agree more and it makes me feel waaaaaaaay better about my recent acquisition of a Canon PowerShot SD500 7.1MP shooter. The Canon is bulletproof and takes a kick ass picture to boot. Message to Kodak: increase the MPs, decrease the price, include the WiFi card and make it play nice with the Mac and maybe you’ll be able to sell some. Otherwise get back to us when you get your act together.
