Well, this is both confusing but also reassuring.
One thing Apple didn’t mention during yesterday’s keynote was the iPhone 6s battery life. In the promo video, Apple shows a shot of the iPhone 6s internals. During the video, the viewer can make out the battery’s specifications, which is rated at 1715mAh,down from the 1810mAH packed into the previous iPhone 6.
The smaller capacity battery apparently allows for new features such as the 3D Touch screen and the Taptic Engine, albeit Apple’s specs state that the battery life estimates for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s models are identical.
The iPhone 6s boasts up to 14 hours of 3G talk time, 10 hours of data usage on 3G, 10 hours on LTE, 11 hours on WiFi and 10 days of standby. These are the same numbers quoted for the iPhone 6.
Images of the new battery can be seen around the 2:50 mark in the promo video.
