Apple releases iOS 8.4.1 update, targets iTunes, Apple Music bugs

It’s not the biggest iOS update in the world, but it might prove helpful.

On Thursday, Apple released iOS 8.4.1.

The update, a 55 megabyte download, adds the following fixes and changes:
– Resolves issues that could prevent turning on iCloud Music Library.

– Resolves an issue that hides added music because Apple Music was set to show offline music only.

Apple releases iTunes 12.2.2 update

It’s not a huge update, but it might pin down some of the problems you were having between iTunes, your libraries and Apple Music.

On Thursday, Apple released iTunes 12.2.2. The update, which can be snagged through OS X’s Software Update or App Store features, offers the following fixes and changes:

– Click on the Beats 1 banner to see what’s currently on, or view a complete broadcast schedule so you never miss a show.

– You can now view a list of the artists you’re following on Apple Music.

Apple releases third public beta of OS X El Capitan operating system

If you’re feeling brave of heart, the new public beta of OS X El Capitan has been released and is ready for you to download and play with.

Apple on Wednesday seeded the third beta of OS X El Capitan to public beta testers, one week after seeding the second beta and just under three weeks after first providing the OS X El Capitan beta to the public for testing purposes.

The third public beta, which features no outward-facing changes, is thought to be an under-the-hood update with bug fixes and performance improvements.

Late Monday, Apple released iTunes 12.2.1. The new version, a 232.8 megabyte download, offers the following fixes and changes:

– Fixes an issue for iTunes Match where iTunes incorrectly changed some songs from Matched to Apple Music.

Apple releases VoiceOver patches for iOS iWork apps

You may want to update your iWork apps today.

Following a rare overnight update on Tuesday, Apple has updated its Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps for iOS to version 2.5.4, returning full VoiceOver navigation and editing functionality to the apps.

The fixes resolve issues that prevented UI navigation and content editing using VoiceOver. In addition to the VoiceOver patch, Pages no longer blurs text on certain devices when the Speak Screen option is activated.

Some users report music library mangling after iTunes 12.2 update

This is why they invented bug fixes.

Following the release of iTunes 12.2, a number of users have expressed concerns that the update has somewhat mangled their iTunes music libraries after enabling iCloud Music Library.

As reported by several outlets, users end up with a library full for scrambled titles, albums, and artists.

Adobe pushes Flash Player 18.0.0.194, cites security vulnerabilities in previous versions

As useful as it may be, Adobe is still putting out fires with Flash Player.

The company issued a security update for its Flash Player on OS X, Windows, and Linux. In the bulletin, it cited that this update addresses a critical security vulnerability that could allow an attacker to gain control and take over an affected system.

While Adobe notes that hackers have most commonly taken advantage of this vulnerability with systems running Internet Explorer for Windows 7 and Firefox on Windows XP, the exploit affected all users. To combat the issue, the company has pushed the 18.0.0.194 build of Flash Player and is urging all users to update immediately.
