  • WWDC: Apple reveals details about macOS Sierra

    On Monday, Apple revealed details of its upcoming macOS Sierra operating system.

    Sierra, which might otherwise be known as “10.12”, includes a swath of new changes, including a much-updated Siri, which will be incorporated into the operating system and feature a Siri icon within the Dock that activates when clicked upon. During the macOS Siri demo at WWDC, Apple VP Craig Federighi used Siri to find files and followed up the search to refine the results. Federighi also showed how Siri results can be integrated into other Apple apps, such as Reminders.

  • WWDC: Apple posts full video of WWDC 2016 keynote on web site

    Right, there’s a metric TON of new stuff coming out of the Worldwide Developers Conference, but Apple just posted full video of its keynote address on its web site for streaming.

    As usual, Apple shared a few feature-specific videos within the keynote, focusing on app updates to Messages within iOS 10, macOS 10.12 (Sierra) and new apps like Swift Playgrounds.

  • WWDC 2016: Apple Pay coming to online transactions this fall

    Apple’s looking to bring Apple Pay to the Web.

    Among the mucho announcements during the WWDC keynote, Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, announced that the company will begin incorporating “Pay with Apple Pay” buttons. The new feature will be available when the latest version of macOS, Sierra, becomes available to Mac users this fall.

    Federighi said the online “Apple Pay” button will require users to authenticate their identity from a TouchID device—iPhone or Apple Watch—to preserve the security of their transactions.

  • Rumor: Apple to unveil updated MacBook Air, MacBook Pro models in June

    Rumors have come down the pipe from assorted suppliers that Apple may announce updated MacBook Air notebooks this month as opposed the August. The rumor also states that Apple might refresh its entire MacBook line earlier than expected,

    The report, citing “a reliable Chinese supplier,” mentions earlier rumors that Apple will discontinue the smaller 11-inch MacBook Air to focus on 13-inch and all-new 15-inch models. All of the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models are expected to be equipped with Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports, while USB-A, MagSafe 2, and Thunderbolt 2 ports found on existing models will allegedly be removed.

  • Rumor: Significant changes to Apple’s four operating systems, no new hardware announcements in works for WWDC 2016

    The days leading up to WWDC 2016 are a mix of facts and rumors, but there’s some interesting stuff that’s being mentioned.

    On that note, the mighty Mark Gurman went on the Jay and Farad Show podcast and offered the following predictions:

    – There literally won’t be any new hardware product announcements at WWDC, but there will be announcements regarding iOS, MacOS, tvOS and watchOS.

    – MacOS will receive a Siri upgrade and have it integrated in the top right corner. Photos will also see upgrades.
