    Apple looks to be in the process of introducing Support, its new iOS app that helps users find handy support articles as well as book AppleCare services and repairs.

    The company has offered the following description of the app:

    Need help? Apple Support app is your personalized guide to the best options from Apple. Find answers with articles tailored to your products and questions. Call, chat or email with an expert right away, or schedule a callback when it’s convenient. Get a repair at an Apple Store or a nearby Apple Authorized Service Provider. Apple Support is here to help.

  • Apple rolls out iPhone carrier billing systems in Taiwan, Switzerland

    This could be helpful if you’re traveling.

    Apple on Tuesday launched a new carrier billing options in Taiwan and Switzerland that lets users charge iTunes purchases directly to their monthly cellphone bill.

    Like carrier billing systems already available in Germany and Russia Apple’s Taiwan rollout lets customers pay for apps, music, Apple Music subscriptions and more using their phone number.

    The same features have also been rolled out in Switzerland and in Taiwan, the alternative payment plan will first be available to monthly contract customers for area telecom Far EasTone.

  • Apple’s negotiating techniques holding up Apple TV streaming service

    Apple knows exactly what it wants in terms of negotiations.

    And it might just be getting in the way in terms of setting up an Apple TV streaming service.

    The company’s “assertive” negotiation tactics have apparently made it difficult to establish and lock deals with various cable providers and networks.

    Apple started talking with the Walt Disney Company in early 2015 about getting Disney-owned content onto its then-planned streaming television service, but Apple executives, iTunes chief Eddy Cue in particular, made demands networks were not prepared to meet.

  • Apple releases macOS Sierra public beta

    And now, for the truly brave of heart, the macOS Sierra public beta has just become available.

    Late Thursday, Apple released the public beta to macOS Sierra, the successor to OS X EL Capitan.

    In order to install the beta, you’ll need to go to beta.apple.com, sign in with an Apple ID and then you’ll be able to download the installer via the Mac App Store.
