Apple has recently released a Digital Legacy tool, which allows users to request access to a deceased friend or family member’s Apple ID account.
If you’re the legacy contact for someone who’s passed away, you can request access to their account as well as have the Activation Lock removed from their devices. Users will need the Legacy Contact Access Key, and can contact Apple for assistance with this if need be.
