Apple offers discounted iCloud pricing for new customers, 200GB tier now available for $2.99 per month

If you’ve been hankering for more iCloud storage space for free, you’re going to like this.

Apple is partnering with the Big Four carriers in the U.S. to offer 200GB of free iCloud storage for two months, just in time for the new iPhones

Generally, the 200GB iCloud tier retails for $2.99 per month. This offer is only available to new iCloud customers, and this is also being interpreted as Apple ceding that its free iCloud tier of 5GB is simply not enough.

Introduced in 2011, iCloud debuted with 5GB of free storage, a practice hasn’t changed in seven years. Apple has made changes to iCloud storage, such as reducing the prices of paid tiers and replacing the 1TB tier with 2TB.

Since May of 2018, Apple has also offered customers 30 day free trials for new subscriptions to each tier.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
