Apple releases macOS Monterey 12.5.1 update, includes bug fixes for zero-day security concerns

In addition to its updates for iOS and iPadOS, Apple on Wednesday released macOS Monterey 12.5.1. The update includes bug fixes as well as security fixes for two zero-day exploits.

These security fixes address kernel and WebKit vulnerabilities that could allow attackers to run arbitrary code on an iPhone or iPad. In these cases, Cupertino says, the vulnerabilities may have already been actively exploited in the wild.

The macOS Monterey 12.5.1 update is mainly a bug fix release. The update also addresses kernel and WebKit vulnerabilities located in earlier versions of iOS and iPadOS.

To initiate this update, open System Preferences > Software Updates and search for the update from there.

If you’ve installed macOS Monterey 12.5.1 and have any feedback to offer, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
