Apple seeds macOS Monterey 12.5, macOS 11.6.8 Release Candidate versions

If you’re feeling brave, this might be just your thing.

Apple on Wednesday issued the Release Candidate for its macOS Monterey 12.5 operating system. The update, which is probably the final release of this macOS iteration, can now be downloaded via Apple’s beta website.

The update accompanies a beta Release Candidate for Apple’s macOS Big Sur 11.6.8 operating system.

The latest builds of Apple’s various operating systems can be downloaded via the Apple Developer Center for those enrolled in the test program, or via an over-the-air update on devices running the beta software. Public betas typically arrive within a few days of the developer versions, via the Apple Beta Software Program website.

The macOS Monterey 12.5 RC is build number 21G69, while macOS 11.6.8 RC is 20G728.

The macOS Monterey 12.5 betas have so far consisted of bug fixes and performance improvement releases, which no visible user-facing changes. The beta is also currently being offered in beta alongside macOS Ventura.
