Apple to release iOS 17, iPadOS 17 on September 18

If you’re eager for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, you don’t have that much longer to wait.

Per Apple’s “Wonderlust” media event, the next-gen mobile operating systems will be available on Sunday, September 18th, and offer new features such as Live Voicemail, StandBy mode, and a new Journal app.

Other new features include new ways for iPad users to use widgets and personalize their lock screen. iPadOS 17 is compatible with sixth-generation iPad models, fifth-generation iPad mini, third-generation iPad Air, and second-generation iPad Pro 12.9-inch models or later.

In addition, iOS 17 will finally allow users to activate Siri without saying “hey” first.

Users can also create customizable stickers, set up Contact Posters, and the new Live Voicemail feature will display a live transcript on the user’s screen as a voicemail is being recorded if you don’t answer your phone.

The upcoming NameDrop feature also allows iOS 17 users to easily share contact information via AirDrop by bringing two iPhone devices into close proximity with each other.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
