  • Next-gen iPad Pro rumors hint at triple-lens camera configurations

It’s in the rumor mill, and it could be pretty amazing if it came true.

OnLeaks’ Steve H. mcFly has posted images based on rumors of what is thought to be the next 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablets. The images offer a view of the tablets with a triple-lens camera feature, as seen on the iPhone 11 Pro handsets.

This rumor has gained some strength, as Ben Geskin posted about photos of a purported case for the new iPad Pro with the square cutout familiar from the iPhone 11.

OnLeaks says that the dimensions of the 11-inch iPad Pro could be the same as the current model. No information was provided about the dimensions of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. But since the iPads will have the triple-lens camera, it’s possible that the tablets will be a bit thicker.

It’s thought that the next-gen iPad could feature both an aluminum and glass back, but this seems up in the air at this point, and concrete specifications remain scant at best.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.

  • Fortnite for iOS updated, features improved compatibility with joysticks, 120 FPS frame rates on third-gen iPad Pro

Fortnite for iOS has just gone through yet another hefty update, Epic Games announcing improved compatibility with joysticks as well as 120 frames per second gameplay available on compatible devices for the first time with the new version.

Joysticks were already compatible with Fortnite on iOS, which includes the Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 controllers, but players can now also fully use the thumbstick clickable buttons (L3 and R3). In addition to the new feature, the update brings something that certainly improves the gameplay for iPad users.

The new version of Fortnite now takes full advantage of Apple’s 12X Bionic chip, which is found on the third-generation iPad Pro, to boost frame rates from 60 frames per second to 120 frames per second, thanks to the ProMotion technology powering the device’s display. This helps make the animations extremely smooth thanks to the doubled frame rate.

Fortnite now takes full advantage of Apple’s A12X Bionic chip on the 3rd generation iPad Pro to increase graphics frame rates. Previously restricted to 60 FPS, users with the latest iPad Pro models can now play the game with up to 120 FPS, thanks to the ProMotion technology behind the display. That makes the animations extremely smooth, as the images are shown with twice the regular rate.

Fortnite is available for free on the App Store, and is compatible with any device running iOS 11.0 or later with an A8X chip or later.

Epic Games has published a list with everything else that has changed in the latest version of the game, which is linked below.
