Rumor: Apple to launch M5-based iPad Pro, Vision Pro in the coming week

With Apple’s anticipated October launch expected this month, Apple is thought to be launching an M5-based iPad Pro as well as a Vision Pro upgrade, with a possible M5 MacBook Pro as well.

Following Apple’s traditional September event when it launched the iPhone 17 lineup, there is usually the expectation that Apple will be holding a second event at some point. While the usual event timing for October has already passed, Apple is still believed to be preparing for launches in the coming days.

Per Bl0omberg’s Mark Gurman in his Sunday “Power On” newsletter, the event will be an online-only event and not held in person at Apple Park. Gurman has insisted that an M5 iPad Pro is on the docket, and given the company’s M5 Apple Silicon rollout, the iPad Pro models aren’t expected to have major changes, aside from the new chip.

Gurman also noted the possible upgrade of the Apple Vision Pro headset, which is also rumored to include the Dual Knit Band, which could make it far more comfortable to use and wear.

Finally, Apple could be leading the way for an M5 MacBook Pro this month, although a proper update to the MacBook Pro line probably won’t happen until early 2026, when Apple introduces the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.

Other products including versions of the iPad Air, entry-level iPad, monitors, and M5 MacBook Air, are anticipated for launch early in 2026.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
