SoundHound 10.2.1 removes Spotify playback feature

The picture pretty much tells the story.

The developers of version 10.2.1 of SoundHound, the music discovery program that gives Shazam a run for its money, have removed support for Spotify playback given a fundamental change in how the app could connect to the Spotify player, citing a less than ideal user experience.

Users can still connect to their Spotify playlists and will be able to add discovered music to the playlist, but playback has changed, at least for the time being.

SoundHound is available for free and requires iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later to install and run.

If you’ve used the new version of SoundHound, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
