  • Apple announces Apple Watch Series 5 units at media event

    Over at its media event, Apple unveiled its Series 5 Apple Watch, complete with its first-ever, always-on display, a built-in company, and access to international emergency services with every cellular model.

    The Series 5 units will also include ceramic white, and new natural brush and space black titanium models among other colors.

    The pricing and availability is as follows:

    • Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) starts at $399 (US) and Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) starts at $499. The popular Series 3 (GPS), with built-in GPS, optical heart rate sensor and water resistance, starts at a new low price of $199 and Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) is $299.
    • Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) is available to order today from apple.com and in the Apple Store app, with availability beginning Friday, September 20 in the USPuerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and 38 other countries and regions.
    • Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) is available to order today from apple.com and in the Apple Store app, with availability beginning Friday, September 20 in the USPuerto Rico and 20 other countries and regions. For carrier availability, visit apple.com/watch/cellular.

    • watchOS 6 will be available for Apple Watch Series 3 and later on September 19 and for Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 later this fall.
    • Customers in the US can trade in their eligible device for an Apple Store Gift Card, or a refund on their purchase. If their device isn’t eligible for credit, Apple will recycle it for free.4
    • Customers get 3 percent Daily Cash when they buy Apple Watch Series 5 from Apple with Apple Card.
    • Customers can get up to two years of technical support and accidental damage coverage with AppleCare+.
    • Customers who buy Apple Watch from Apple will be offered free Personal Setup, in-store or online,to help set up and personalize their new Apple Watch with calendars, notifications, apps and more.

  • Apple releases watchOS 5.2 update, brings ECG app support to Hong Kong, select European regions

    Apple on Wednesday released watchOS 5.2, which brings ECG app support for Hong Kong and select European regions.

    The update doesn’t specifically name which European regions received the ECG functionalities. As of this writing, the ECG app has gone live in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guam, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. 

    Alongside the ECG app, the watchOS 5.2 update includes support for the newly-released second-generation AirPods, integrations for real-time text for phone calls, and an assortment of new Hermes watch faces.

    Users can upgrade their Apple Watch to watchOS 5.2 by downloading and remotely installing the update through the Watch app on iOS. Topics:

  • Pre-order times list compiled for 2018 iPhone, Apple Watch models

    Pre-orders for the iPhone XS, XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 will kick off on Friday, September 14 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time, allowing customers to purchase one of Apple’s newly announced devices.

    With Apple planning to launch the new devices around the world simultaneously, here’s a list of when pre-orders will be accepted around the globe:

    Australia West – 3:01 p.m. AWST

    Australia East – 5:01 p.m. AEST

    Austria – 9:01 a.m. CEST

  • Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE functionality to arrive in Hong Kong, Singapore next month

    When the Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular debuted back in September, due to carrier requirements, cellular connectivity was only supported in a handful of countries. Apple today announced, however, that Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular is coming to two new locations next month…

    The company updated its website to announce that the Apple Watch with cellular will be available for preorder in both Hong Kong and Singapore. The device is due to arrive one week later on February 9th.

    In Singapore, the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE will start at S$598, while customers in Hong Kong will pay HK$3,188. As for wireless carriers, Hong Kong customers will have their choice between 1O1O and csl3.

  • Apple to have iPhone X units available in limited quantities at Apple Store locations on November 3rd

    This is one of those times where it might just pay to camp outside an Apple Store.

    Apple on Tuesday announced that it will have limited inventory of the iPhone X available for walk-in customers on November 3rd. Still, the company added that customers are “encouraged to arrive early” given limited inventory.

    The iPhone X launches in more than 55 countries and territories on Nov. 3, where it will be available in Apple retail stores starting at 8 a.m. local time. Preorders start this Friday, Oct. 27, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific, 3:01 a.m. Eastern.
