Apple extends anti-reflective coating repair program

This should come in handy.

Apple has informed Authorized Service Providers that its anti-reflective repair program remains in effect. Per a leaked internal memo, users will have to mail in their computers to participate in the program.

The program, which was originally launched in October 2015, began when users began discovering issues with their device’s anti-reflective coating. Although the program reportedly ended on January 4, 2021, users can still have their devices repaired within four years of the purchase date.

As of now, MacBook and MacBook Pro notebooks from 2016 and 2017 are likely to be the only devices that still qualify. Models from 2018 and later have never been included. It’s unknown whether the policy applies outside the U.S.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
