Apple releases updated macOS Monterey 12.4 build, offers improved compatibility with M2-based Macs

This should come in handy.

Apple has released a new build of its macOS Monterey 12.4 operating system that offers compatibility with its new M2-based Macs. The release came a day after Apple began selling its new M2 MacBook Pro.

The new build is 2F2092. Given that it’s limited to the new Macs, if you are running macOS Monterey’s latest software update, you won’t be able to download this new version.

The macOS Monterey 12.4 update was originally released a month ago and offered the following fixes and changes:

  • Apple Podcasts includes a new setting to limit episodes stored on your Mac and automatically delete older ones
  • Support for Studio Display Firmware Update 15.5, available as a separate update, refines camera tuning, including improved noise reduction, contrast, and framing

Apple’s M2 MacBook Pro pre-orders began this morning.

The M2 MacBook Pro only improves the CPU and GPU experience, while the webcam, design, and even ports remain the same. For the M2 MacBook Air, on the other hand, Apple is bringing a new color, new ports, and a new look to the machine.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
