Apple Face ID Hardware iPad Air News Rumor Touch ID USB-C

Leaked iPad Air manual highlights transition of Touch ID feature to power/sleep button, USB-C port

From the depths of Rumorville, a leaker has posted what appear to be images of a forthcoming iPad Air manual. The manual indicates a larger display as well as Apple’s Touch ID feature now embedded within the sleep/wake button.

The leak also seems to back up previous reports that the next-gen iPad Air will include an 11-inch display and use USB-C. The four shots show pages from what appears to be a Spanish-language iPad Air Manual.

Leaked illustrations in the manual suggest a close to edge-to-edge display, and lack of a Home button. Users are thought to access the forthcoming tablet with the same swiping gestures as a Face ID device. Strangely, the Spanish captions within the manual refer to “Touch ID with the top button to unlock the iPad Air.”

The existence of forthcoming iPads has most recently been confirmed by Apple’s listing model numbers on the EEC database.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
