Leaked iPhone 11 case renders hint at camera bump designs

Once again, it might be a leak from the case manufacturers that best indicate what the next-gen iPhones will look like.

A new leaked image shows that the next-gen iPhone XR may feature the “camera” bump” design. The bump could, in fact, house two rear cameras, and not three, as originally rumored.

The case pictured purportedly shows the design of the 5.8-inch iPhone 11. Within the image, the camera bump is more noticeable and bulbous than previous generations. The bump approaches the center of the phone chassis horizontally.

Slashleaks also posted images of a purported iPhone 11 Max case. The bump is the same size on both sizes, which makes it proportionally smaller positioned on the 6.5-inch chassis.

The three cameras are expected to feature significantly improved components over previous models. In addition, the new third camera is expected to sport an ultra wide lens, according to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo also said that there will be some kind of black tint applied to the ultra-wide lens to make it harder to see at a glance. This coating will also be applied to the front camera, to make it a less noticeable element in the front screen’s notch.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 11 and new iPhone XR at a media event in September.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
