Microsoft updates OneDrive, offers native Apple Silicon hardware support with new version

Microsoft’s OneDrive has just been updated with full support for the Apple Silicon hardware.

The company had been testing a pre-release Apple silicon version of OneDrive since 2021, and now the native version of the app is available for all OneDrive users.

Microsoft said that the long-awaited feature is generally available starting with build 22.022.

The update supports Apple’s M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max chips, and the refreshed app is said to run faster and more efficiently on the latest Macs as the Rosetta 2 translation software will no longer be required.

If you’ve tried the updated version on your Apple Silicon-based Mac, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
