The recent announcement of the 17-inch PowerBook caught me, and probably everyone else, completely off guard. When Apple came out with what I thought was a major upgrade to their PowerBook line just two months ago, adding a superdrive to the Titanium G4, I rushed out and bought one.
Now I wish I would have waited, I would love to have the new 17-inch PowerBook G4 instead. Why would Apple make a major upgrade and just six weeks later come out with new models?
What about iLife? I read on the iLife Web page that “An iLife Up-To-Date upgrade package will be available to all customers who purchase a new Mac system with SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW) on or after January 7, 2003 that does not include iLife.”
What about those of us that got duped into buying a GigaBook six weeks ago? Is Apple going to try to charge us to upgrade to iDVD 3? I sure hope not…
P.S. Anyone interested in buying a 1GHz PowerBook with a SuperDrive?
