Regulatory filing numbers hint at seven iPad variants, eight Apple Watch Series 6 variants in the pipeline

Once again, it’s the regulatory numbers that offer a nifty hint as to what to expect from Apple’s product line.

To this end, seven new variations of the iPad, as well as eight variations of the Apple Watch Series 6 have been published on the Eurasian Economic Commission’s website. This generally implies that they’re shortly to be released, and almost definitely in the product pipeline. A total of seven new iPad SKUs — so one or more models with multiple configurations — and eight Apple Watches have listed. The Apple Watch Series 6 units are all shown as running watchOS 7.

The Apple Watch Series 6 model numbers are as follows:

  • A2291
  • A2292
  • A2351
  • A2352
  • A2375
  • A2376
  • A2355
  • A2356

The new iPad models numbers are as follows:

  • A2270
  • A2072
  • A2316
  • A2324
  • A2325
  • A2428
  • A2429

There’s no clear timeline from a listing to a final release, but a similar listing was published for the new iPads in July 2019, which was followed by a September release. So, a listing in August might be in line with Apple releasing new iPads and Apple Watches come September or October. This is also in line with Apple’s regular iPhone launch, which the company said would be delayed by a few weeks.

These listed iPads and Apple Watches may then be revealed at an October event. However, recent reports have claimed that the “Apple Watch Series 6” may be launched via a press release.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
