The rumor mill currently has it that Apple’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus handsets will feature the same “frosted glass” rear as the iPhone Pro versions and a new color.
For the last few generations of the iPhone, Apple has traditionally reserved a textured glass panel on the back of the Pro models, while the lower-end devices have a smooth panel. The glass finish offers texture and may help reduce the buildup of fingerprints for some people.
According to a user on the Weibo social network in China, Apple will introduce a greenish-cyan color to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models.
The aforementioned source of these rumors also accurately predicted that Apple would release the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in yellow, which it did in March. The new version could add a blueish hue to the green color of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.
Other current iPhone 15 rumors include a USB-C port, the Dynamic Island introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models, Wi-Fi 6E, two selfie cameras, and more.
Apple will announce the new iPhones later in September 2023.
