T-Mobile comes out on top of other US wireless carriers in Ookla’s Q1 2023 report

You may not always love T-Mobile, but it appears to be outpacing its US competitors in terms of mobile Internet speeds.

According to Ookla, creators of the handy Speedtest website, the company’s shared report for US mobile and broadband Internet performance for Q1 2023 stated that T-Mobile continued to outperform the competition for mobile service with a median download speed over 2x faster than Verizon and AT&T. T-Mobile was also able to take home the bacon for almost every other metric Ookla measured.

The median download speed for T-Mobile came in at 164.76 Mbps for Q1 2023. Verizon and AT&T came in with more than 2x slower median download speeds at 72.61 and 66.16 Mbps, respectively.

Where median upload speeds were concerned, the other major US carriers were within 5Mbps, albeit T-Mobile had a median upload speed of 12.16 Mbps.

For latency, T-Mobile just beat out Verizon with 54 ms

Where consistency was concerned, T-Mobile was also able to score 86.1 percent with Verizon Wireless and AT&T scoring 81.5 and 79.2, respectively.

And for 5G median download speeds, T-Mobile also remained far ahead of Verizon and AT&T at 220 Mbps:
