Although the iPhone X has yet to arrive anywhere in the world, Twitter user Benjamin Geskin began shooting images and videos of the new handset to the Internet over the weekend. The resulting images include the iPhone X in its retail handset as well as shared images of the iPhone X stacked and ready to ship.
Unlike the iPhone 8’s rear-focus cover art, the iPhone X packaging depicts the smartphone’s large OLED display.
Apple has announced that it’s working on a fix for some of the “static” and “crackling” sounds some users have experienced from the newly-released iPhone 8’s earpiece.
The company offered the following statement:
“We are aware of the issue which is affecting customers in a small number of cases,” an Apple spokesperson said. “Our team is at work on a fix, which will be included in an upcoming software release.”
The current rumor has it that the next-gen iPhone’s battery will be able to get over power consumption and space-related hurdles, potentially allowing for longer battery life than ever.
Rumor has it that this year’s flagship “iPhone 8” will boast a large 2,700 mAh battery, on par with the high-end 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus.
The next-gen iPhone is said to have dimensions similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone 7, which features a 1,960 mAh capacity battery, while the iPhone 7 Plus has a 2,900 mAh battery.
There has to be a nugget of truth in all these rumors.
Apple’s widely rumored and anticipated iPhone with an OLED display is said to feature a polished stainless steel enclosure sandwiched between front and back glass. This is the same iPhone 4-like design that reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has expected since last year.
The handset, which has been rumored to be called the “iPhone Edition”, will feature an improved variant of the Apple Watch’s stainless steel enclosure. As such, it’s thought to include a conventionally flat OLED display with 2.5D cover glass along the edges.
If you’ve been having troubles with your iPhone 6 battery, Apple may have a warranty program en route to help out.
An unconfirmed rumor has stated that Apple may be preparing a battery replacement program for the iPhone 6 handset, much the same as the popular iPhone 6s battery replacement program.
When Apple announced the 6s program, it said that only a ‘very small number’ of 6s units were affected, all of which were manufactured during a two-month period, making it seem unlikely on the face of it that the same issue could affect an earlier model.
