You may think the Apple Watch is silly, but it’s selling. And a fair number of its buyers are snagging a second watch band. Research firm Slice Intelligence, which analyzed mail receipts from two million people, extrapolated that an estimated 2.79 million Apple Watch units have been sold since the device launched in April.
The Apple Watch sold a few units on preorder around the 10th. Almost one million units is the current guess. The initial Apple Watch preorder numbers have been flowing in and among the first to report was research firm Slice Intelligence, which estimates nearly one million customers in the U.S. preordered the device on Friday.
