Apple releases iOS 17.1.1, iPadOS 17.1.1, chases after Apple Pay, NFC, Lock Screen-related bugs

It’s not a huge update, but it could make a difference.

Late Tuesday, Apple released its iOS 17.1.1 update for the iPhone and its iPadOS 17.1.1 update for the iPad. The updates follow the hefty iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 updates from October 25 that introduced new AirDrop and Apple Music features.

The updates offer the following fixes and changes:

  • In rare circumstances, Apple Pay and other NFC features may become unavailable on iPhone 15 models after wireless charging in certain cars
  • Weather Lock Screen widget may not correctly display snow

As usual, you can locate, download, and install the updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update and going from there.

Apple is currently working on iOS 17.2 and the new Journal app for iPhone.

If you’ve tried the updates on your devices, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
