Cyan releases remastered Myst Mobile game for iOS, iPadOS devices

Following up on Monday’s article about a 30th anniversary edition of Myst being developer for iOS and iPadOS devices, developer Cyan on Thursday released the remastered “Myst Mobile” game for the iPhone and iPad.

The game had been available via a prior version for iOS devices in 2009, but this is an updated version that is free to download and play.

The game can be played on any iOS or iPadOS device with an A12 chip or later, as well as an M1 or M2 chip. Cyan says that the game has been optimized for ‌M1‌ devices and runs supercharged on ‌M2‌ chips in particular, with graphics that rival console graphics. The game supports keyboards and trackpads, as well as gamepads.

The Myst Island content is available at no const, albeit if you’d like to unlock the Ages beyond Myst Island add-on, this is available for a one-time purchase of $14.99. There is a launch promotion right now that drops the price down to $9.99.

If you’ve had a chance to try the game, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
