Leaked case video indicates possible addition of Action button to iPhone 15 lineup

Once again, it’s the accessory case leaks that might confirm one of the most interesting upcoming features of the iPhone 15.

A leaked video purporting to show a case for the iPhone 15 Pro also clearly shows how the old mute switch is replaced by an Action button.

Following on from his own leak as to available colors for the regular iPhone 15 models, generally reliable leaker Sonny Dickson has shown off the iPhone 15 Pro in the following video:

The video is wordless and offers no description, and offers no indication as to whether the case is claimed to be an actual iPhone 15 Pro, or a mockup.

Still, the casing offers an unmistakable space for the Action button, which lies above the volume controls and in place of the old mute switch.

Last October, noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that all controls — volume and mute — on the iPhone 15 Pro would switch from mechanical to solid-state buttons. Later, Kuo reported that technical problems meant Apple had abandoned this idea.

Apple is expected to implement an Action button that will debut on the forthcoming iPhone 15 Pro. The button is said to also offer the ability to control the camera.

Apple will unveil its iPhone 15 range at its “Wonderlust” event on September 12, 2023.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
