If you’re curious as to whether your Mac is recent and/or cool enough to run macOS Big Sur upon its release, the device support list is out.
Long story short, if your Mac is from 2013-2014 or later, you can run it.
The list goes as follows:
- Macbook (2015 and later)
- MacBook Air (2013 and later)
- MacBook Pro (2013 and later)
- Mac mini (2014 and later)
- iMac (2014 and later) iMac Pro
- (all models) Mac Pro (2013 and later)
