Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C look like they’re making their way from the Mac to high-end PCs.

Where Thunderbolt 3 is concerned, the port is suddenly beginning to show up in high-end offerings from just about every major PC OEM, starting with some Lenovo workstation laptops and Dell’s new XPS lineup and continuing in laptops and convertibles from HP, Acer, Intel, and others.

Over at CES, both Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C seem to be getting noticed, driving displays and charging notebooks on assorted display units throughout the convention.

Further proving the wireless calling plan policies take more dramatic plot twists than a Telemundo soap opera, AT&T will be launching a brand new version of unlimited data tomorrow.

Pricing for the plan begins at $100 a month for a single line, plus $40 for each additional line. Unfortunately, the caveats is that you need to be a DirecTV or U-Verse subscriber to even be eligible, which of course adds to the cost if you don’t already have a subscription.

Because, hey, wireless charging is pretty darn cool.

The current batch of rumors regarding Apple’s next-gen iPhone/the iPhone 7 includes a wireless charging feature as well as a thinner, waterproof body and no headphone jack.

The rumor hails from within Apple’s supply chain and an anonymous source has stated that the iPhone 7 will not include a headphone jack in an effort to make the device even thinner than the iPhone 6s. The device will also “very likely” be waterproof and support some form of wireless charging.

It’s hard to say what Apple plans to do with the small companies it invariably buys, but the speculation gets interesting.

Most recently, Apple has purchased Emotient Inc., A startup that uses artificial-intelligence technology to read people’s emotions by analyzing facial expressions.

Emotient itself has been sold to advertisers to help assess viewer reactions to their ads as well as tested by doctors to interpret signs of pain among patients unable to express themselves, and a retailer used it to monitor shoppers’ facial expressions in store aisles, the company had said.

If you were interested in the Vidyo screen recording utility, Apple’s yanked it from the App Store.

The app allowed users to record their device’s screen on iPhone and iPad, even when you weren’t using the app itself. That meant you could also record your homescreen. The app made this possible by simulating an AirPlay Mirroring connection – something that also likely violated Apple’s terms of service and contributed to its removal.

The device, which was tested by MacStories, recorded the iOS device’s audioor the microphone’s audio, video from the device screen or the cameras, and could output in resolutions up to 1080p and 60fps. The app also included other features that let you import your own audio files to combine with your screen recordings in order to make screencasts.
