Apple launches MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone 12 handsets

If you need some extra juice for your iPhone 12, it’s here.

On Tuesday, Apple began selling a MagSafe battery pack for its iPhone 12 handsets.

The unit retails for $99, and is available in white and offers a battery capacity of 1,460mAH, which may not be enough to offer a full charge.

Apple has stated that iOS 14.7 is required to use it. By itself, the pack can charge your iPhone at 5W, and if it’s connected to a 20W or higher power source you’ll get up to 15W of power, enough for Fast Charging.

If you’re using the MagSafe Battery Pack to charge your iPhone 12, you’ll receive a notification that says your iPhone will charge only up to 90 percent. To charge past 90 percent, open Control Center, press and hold the Low Power Mode icon, then tap Continue.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
