Apple releases macOS Monterey 12.4 update, includes version 15.5 of the Studio Display firmware

Apple on Tuesday released its macOS Monterey 12.4 update.

The update, which arrived more than two months after the release of macOS Monterey 12.3, added Universal Control, which allows a single mouse/trackpad and keyboard to be used across multiple Mac and iPads.

The update also includes version 15.5 of the Studio Display firmware, which is designed to improve webcam quality following numerous complaints since the display went on sale.

Other changes include an update for the Podcasts app, with Apple adding a setting that limits the number of episodes stored on a Mac and automatically deletes older ones.

The ‌‌‌‌‌‌macOS Monterey‌‌‌ 12.4 update can be downloaded on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences. Apple has also released a macOS Big Sur 11.6.6 update for those who are still running Big Sur, as well as a macOS Catalina 2022-004 security update. These updates can also be located, downloaded, and installed by using the Software Update section of System Preferences.

If you’ve had a chance to try macOS Monterey 12.4, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
