Apple to increase price of some out-of-warranty Mac, iPhone, and iPad battery replacements

Some out-of-warranty Apple product repair have gotten or are about to get a bit more expensive.

Apple will increase the price of out-warranty iPhone battery replacements for all ‌iPhone‌ models older than the iPhone 14 later this year, the company announced on its website. Apple is also increasing prices of iPad and Mac battery replacement.

The company said that beginning March 1, 2023, the price of out-of-warranty battery replacements from all models of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series, as well as older models, will increase by $20. Apple currently charges $69 for a battery replacement on most ‌iPhone‌ models, per to an estimation calculator on the company’s website.

The price increase will only impact customers who do not currently have AppleCare or AppleCare+ protection plans for their devices. With the protection plans, customers currently pay nothing for a battery replacement once their battery health has decreased past 80 percent.

Come March 1, Apple will also be increasing the price of its out-of-warranty battery replacement for both the Mac and the iPad. MacBook Air battery replacement will increase by $30 and MacBook Pro prices by $50. Newer ‌iPad‌ Models will see their prices increase by $20.
